  5. ALBACS enables payments or collections to be made electronically directly from
  6. your computer to BACS. ALBACS replaces cash, cheques, bank giros and many other
  7. payment or collection methods, substantially reducing costs and administrative
  8. overheads. Having completed your payroll, purchase ledger, direct debiting
  9. application as usual on your computer, ALBACS will automatically process the
  10. payment or collection information for submission directly to BACS. Transmission
  11. of data is then made either by sending the data to BACS via a modem, or by
  12. transferring the information onto a floppy disk to be posted to BACS. Transfer
  13. of funds is then made automatically from your bank account to the recipient's
  14. bank account or building society account on the required day. ALBACS links to
  15. most other packages, eliminating any re-keying of information and transposition
  16. errors, and maintains a complete and comprehensive history of activities and
  17. processing. For security it has multi-level password protection.
